Flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss: what goes where.
Riverside South · Ottawa south
Interior painting, feature walls, high foyers and cabinet painting for Riverside South homes along the Rideau, from the first subdivisions to the newest phases.
Painting in Riverside South
Riverside South is one of Ottawa’s newer communities, built mostly from the late 1990s onward on the west bank of the Rideau. With modern drywall and straight walls to start from, painting here is usually about colour and finish: moving past builder beige or grey, adding a deep feature wall or two, and painting trim and doors in a crisper white.
Many homes have two-storey foyers, open-to-above family rooms and long stairwells. Those walls are the hardest to reach and the most visible in the house, so we plan staging, ladders and drop cloths for them and quote the access separately.
Newer homes also mean fewer surprises: no lead paint, little plaster and good surfaces. The main prep is the settling cracks and nail pops every new house develops, which we repair before painting.

Yes. We use staging and extension ladders to reach high walls safely, protect the stairs and floors, and quote the access as its own line.
No building permit is needed to paint inside or outside a house in Riverside South. Condo and townhome communities can control exterior colours through their declarations, so check before choosing a new one.
Often. A deep colour usually needs a tinted primer and sometimes a third coat to look even. We include that in the quote.
Yes. Trim and doors can be repainted in a brighter or warmer white, or a contrasting colour, in a durable enamel.
